We use composite materials to repair cavities, cracks, and other damages to both front and back teeth.
Crowns are porcelain or metal caps that cover a tooth in order to help regain and strengthen a tooth while trying to maintain overall aesthetic. Crowns are an effective method to treat cracked, worn, decayed, or broken teeth.
Bridges are a way to help fill a gap where a tooth is missing. This involves a crown on each tooth next to the gap with the replacement crown fused together that sits on the gums. It is an effective way of filling a gap by also preventing other teeth in this area from moving.
A partial denture is a removable way of replacing one or multiple teeth. A full or complete denture is a removable way of replacing either all upper or all lower teeth. We work with a lab to make this an option for you.
An option to replace a missing tooth is to put a titanium fixture into your jawbone where the tooth’s root used to be (usually placed by a dental specialist). We work with the specialist to then place an artificial tooth into this fixture.
An extraction is a removal of a tooth- usually the last resort. We strive to save teeth, but if there is not enough tooth left, a crack is beyond repair, etc, this may be the only option.
An important way to maintain good oral health is by regular hygiene appointments in office involving deep tooth cleanings both above and below the gums with scaler instruments and a polisher. A fluoride treatment may also be suggested to help strengthen teeth in order to try and prevent cavities.
When a tooth has a cavity that is going into the nerve of the tooth or if a tooth is in the process or dying or already dead, it may require a root canal. A root canal involves removing diseased tissue and the nerve on the inside of the tooth and replacing this with a filling material inside the tooth. It is trying to avoid removal of the tooth if possible.
A porcelain veneer is usually more of a cosmetic and very much specific situational option to correct things like stains/shade, misalignment and unwanted spacing between front teeth on teeth that do not require a full tooth coverage crown.
TMJ (temporomandibular jaw) disorder can cause issues to your jaw and muscles of the face resulting in teeth grinding and/or pain. Depending on each case and severity, we make a treatment plan based on each patient’s needs to try and relieve these issues. Some forms of treatment include at home methods/exercises or a biteplane to wear at night.
We fabricate special “trays” custom fit to your teeth with a safe type of bleach in order to make discolored teeth whiter. In certain situations, there are procedures in order to whiten just the one tooth which can be discussed.
This involves prescription medication taken before your dental appointment in order to help you relax and reduce anxiety. They are safe and administered by a pharmacist
A custom mouthguard can be fabricated to protect your teeth while playing sports.
This is a very important part of dentistry in which a comprehensive head and neck exam is completed, checking common oral cancer zones and feeling for any lumps and bumps. If there are any concerns, an immediate referral is sent to a specialist to make sure everything is okay.
